Each Urban Cargo franchisee completes extensive interviewing and assessment prior to being invited to become a Urban Cargo franchisee. Do you meet our minimum selection requirements?
Urban Cargo has a very flexible model, starting with a home office business fully equipped that provides you with all the tools to become a successful promotional company. This is supported by the Urban Cargo Head Office production team who will manage your sales from the start to finish. - without you having to invest in expensive capital equipment.
As your business grows, you can choose to invest in more equipment, enabling you to manufacture more products on site, or you can continue to focus on servicing your customers by continuing the current business model.
To establish a new Urban Cargo franchise you will need access to at least $60,000 in funding. This will cover, computer systems and software, some equipment, franchise fees.
In addition to these business costs you will need funding to support your normal living expenses whilst you build the business to profitability. Ideally, funding should be available for between 6-12 months. Alternatively, a working partner who remains employed can pay these living costs.
The initial franchise fee is included in the $60,000 set up fees referred to above. The franchise fee includes 10 days of training in Sydney. It does not include any travel or accommodation costs whilst attending this training.
Ongoing royalties are 10% of sales.
Marketing levies are 3% of sales for national and local marketing.

Marketing Services
Continuous marketing will be carried out to further develop Urban Cargo brand awareness and drive sales. Brand marketing may use various media such as radio, outdoor, telemarketing the internet and other media as thought appropriate. At the beginning of each financial year Urban Cargo provides franchisees with an Annual Marketing Strategy Plan & Calendar of Events, documenting marketing activities for the forthcoming year.
Brand marketing focuses on creating awareness of Urban Cargo nationally and locally to help build awareness and business in your specific marketing territory. Urban Cargo also has a modern and effective website which provides a welcoming entry point for customers, generates interest and drives sales to your Urban Cargo franchise.
As a Urban Cargo Franchise Owner you have access to a dedicated Business Production Manager who provides one-on-one local support to you on every aspect of your business. The Urban Cargo head office team's primary focus is to help franchisees increase sales and profitability. In the early days of your new business they will work with you side by side, to make certain that you are up and running as quickly and as successfully as possible. They then continue working with you to build your business. Of course, they also monitor your compliance to the Urban Cargo system. As well as the specialist support. Urban Cargo Australia produces an annual financial benchmark profile, against which individual franchises may compare their progress. Areas of opportunity can be readily identified and Urban Cargo works with centres to improve their performance accordingly.

Urban Cargo is Quality Assured to AS/NZS ISO 9001-2000 and has developed comprehensive production model so that your franchise runs as efficiently as possible.
Every Urban Cargo centre has their own Unique Marketing Region (UMR). Each UMR is based on the number of businesses located in the area (using Australian Bureau of Statistics data). We establish a UMR using between 2,000 and 3,000 businesses in each area and whenever possible use postcode boundaries.
This business counts ensure that each UMR has a generous number of businesses to support a Urban Cargo franchise.

Follow the steps below:
Step 1 Complete the Franchise Information Pack
Step 2 After we have analysed the provided information and if all is looking good, we arrange for a meeting with you to get to know each other better and answer any questions you have. At the end of this meeting, if both parties wish to continue a fully refundable deposit will be required by Urban Cargo Pty Ltd.
Step 3 On receipt of your deposit, you will receive an Application Manual which includes the information you will need to investigate the Urban Cargo opportunity. It also includes the Disclosure Documentation as required under the Franchising Code of Conduct.
Step 4 If after your investigations you wish to proceed, a visit to Urban Cargo Pty Ltd in Sydney will be arranged for a final assessment. You will need to prepare a business plan and financial projections for review at this time.
Step 5 If both parties wish to proceed after the Urban Cargo Pty Ltd assessment day, the Franchise Agreement is signed and training schedules confirmed.
Step 6 10 days training period in Sydney, followed by local onsite training will ensure that you are ready to operate a Urban Cargo franchise.
Step 7 Your Urban Cargo Franchise is ready to Go and you are up and running.
